As a nod to her childhood and family memories, Sophia and Raymond chose her uncle’s home to host her truly memorable and personal wedding. The vibe was casual, fun, silly and musical. Instead of opting for a traditional wedding ceremony and reception with all of the formalities to follow, (getting ready in separate locations, a private first look and more), Sophia got ready at the house and mingled with guests prior to getting into their wedding attire. They enjoyed lunch, a few rounds of badminton, and family gossip about past weddings. For the first look, Sophia included all of her family and Raymond and maintained a playful demeanor while being twirled around by Raymond for all to see.

Now for the setting. Sophia wanted a floral, colorful & playful theme. Decor incorporated paper crowns, and temporary tattoos. They were married under a handheld chuppah and their fathers officiated. Guests were met with paper crowns, tattoos and English party crackers to continue enhancing the playful childlike atmosphere Sophia and Raymond were hoping for.

Sophia chose colorful wildflowers for all florals used and even opted for a colorful bouquet incorporating the colors of the day; bright blues, pinks, and yellow against the natural greenery of the venue. A variety of colored floral tablecloths, flowers, and water goblets were set out to continue the colorful theme.

Sophia & Raymond danced like no one was watching.

The entire day was filled with true love, happiness, and only positive vibes. The smiles were authentic and every person got to spend time with the couple be it before the ceremony, during cocktail hour, reception or after. Sophia and Raymond wanted to make sure the entire day was all about family; mission accomplished.

We love a good backstory and one of our favorite parts of the day was Sophia & Raymond’s first dance. Initially, in the early stages of planning the conversation around a first dance was that they likely wouldn’t be doing one. I gently nudged them in the direction of having one and it sounds like family did as well, as ultimately Sophia and Raymond a perfect first dance. Dancing to “Honeybody” by Kishi Bashi added to the playful vibe of the night. Overall, this was by far a The Styled Stem favorite when considering all aspects of a wedding day.
